Dakota left the herd for about a year. She was sold to a friend who wanted to start a herd of her own. I had told her that if she ever decided she couldn't keep Dakota or didn't want her anymore, I would take her back. This past spring, she called and said she was getting divorced. It took many months of fighting with the ex-husband but Dakota finally came home last July. She was a sack of bones and very nervous but settled in quickly and has now gained back all of her weight. Dakota is extremely long and tall with a well attached mammary. She has a beautiful fore udder, I'd just like to see more width up into her escutcheon. Unfortunately, she foundered so her show career is over but we feel that she is still an asset to the herd and she'll remain here as a brood doe.
